  • If you have clean old blankets, sweaters, coats, towels, pillows or bedding, etc... contact your local rescue centre they can always put them to use giving the animals somewhere comfy to sleep.

  • The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals see how you can recycle to help raise fund for PDSA
  • Volunteering & Fund Raising - I doubt there is a charity around that could not benefit from the offer of volunteer help. Just a few hours of your time can make a big difference. Get to know the local organizations in your community, you never know what talent you might have that they might need to help raise funds

  • Help legislate change. Write to and speak with your local MP's and representatives

  • Spay or Netor your pet
  • Foster a homeless animal
  • Don't attend circuses, rodeos and fairs that use animals for entertainment. Speak up against such blatant and unnecessary forms of cruelty. Animals are not ours for entertainment
  • Donate your unwanted household goods, furniture, bric-a-brac, books, etc., etc to any one of the local animal charity shops in your area​
  • Know a friendly shopkeeper? You can always ask if they will display a collection tin for one of your local animal charities such as this one - click here 
  • Be responsible for the animals in your own life
  • Don't buy or adopt animals on a whim, or as gifts. These are the animals who so often get returned, sent to a shelter or euthanized
  • Spread the word... Leave literature and leaflets about compassion towards animals at your local dentist and doctor's office, on noticeboards in your local supermarklets and anywhere else you can

  • Help strays or injured animals in your community and never pass by an animal in need
  • Keep the telephone numbers of your local animal organizations hand
  • Microchip and/or ID tag your companion animal
  • If you suspect animal abuse or neglect PLEASE speak up, sooner rather than later - If you can not approach the abuser then contact your local Animal Welfare / RSPCA / SPCA organization. Follow it through. Do not let it rest until it is resolved.
